Hi,
Some of you who are using OpenDHT may be interested in a project I
have been working on called OpenLookup.
Whereas OpenDHT is all about DHTs and scalability, OpenLookup v2 is a
testbed for experimenting with federation and (lack of) trust, setting
aside concerns about scalability. It implements the same XML-RPC
interface as OpenDHT, but it isn't a DHT, and it doesn't share data
with OpenDHT. If you have an application based on OpenDHT, you are
welcome to use OpenLookup instead. Simply use the following URL
instead of the old one.
http://any.openlookup.net:5851/
I also run an older prototype called OpenLookup v1, hosted on Google
App Engine. The source code for both v1 and v2 is available:
http://openlookup.googlecode.com/
I would be happy to answer questions if there is interest in this, but
looking at the above URLs first may clarify things. If you might be
interested in running OpenLookup v2 yourself, take a look at the
README in the v2 source tree.
